in Tok Alaska. That's pronounced 'Toke.'
I didn't expect to see much or any old neon in Tok, so was pleasantly surprised by this sign. It appears to be a hybrid with newer above and an older sign probably salvaged from elsewhere making up the bottom.
If you're headed south on the Alaska Highway and hungry, you might want to grab something in Tok, it could be many miles before you get another chance. Same with gas.

Beaver Creek, Yukon Territory, Canada.
This is the Catholic Church in the tiny Alaska Highway town of Beaver Creek. Crossing the border from Alaska to the Yukon Territory, Beaver Creek is the first town. It's a bump in the road and 36 years ago when I passed through for the first time was something of a hitchhikers graveyard. I was stuck there almost a week before a bus finally came along and took me and several others north to Fairbanks.
