Garnet was in the same litter as Pickle and Willow (from Toaster and Biscuit). There were three other pups in that group, Pickle was the only male.
Garnet was raised as a pup in Ray's family before he (and then she) came to live with us. She was never much of a sled dog, but she was a real sweetheart too.
From the book (in Ray's writing): 9/7/1996 - killed first mouse.
Garnet died too young when she quickly and unexpectedly developed a hole in her lung that could not be repaired..
