My brother, Dave, and I hiked around 3.5 miles down to the spot I marked on the picture. Coming back up was a lot harder, so we took a snack break at the second point I have marked. When we got to were I took this picture from, I asked my brother where his camera was. The red spot is him looking for his camera, which he did find. I was too tired to go back down there and help him look.

This is from the last time I got out of the yard to take pictures. I think its time to do another late evening shoot. I really need to shoot something other than flowers and weeds.

I always have problems shooting this Iris. It is so rich and pretty in person but my photos always come up short. I haven't even tried to photograph it for several years now but decided it was time to try again. This is the best I have done down through the years but I'm still not totally happy with it.

If you happen to be interested in the 58mm Helios lens, they are on ebay for less than $100. The first one I bought had an adaptor to fit Nikon F mount cameras but the adaptor would not allow the lens to stop down so I had to shoot it wide open all the time.

The second one I bought had the Nikon mount built in-to the lens. No adaptor needed. Nice when you actually want a little depth of field. Fun to play with for not much money.
