Cannon Beach
Oregon
I had some plans for Cannon Beach photographically but most of them needed to be ditched in favour of bed rest to get over the nasty influenza we've all suffered from in the first week of our trip. When I got myself out of bed, I was thrilled that the tide was still low enough for me to get close to the Haystack rock . The milky was was also very high ahead. As a result, I planned to take 2 rows of shots but just as I was finishing up, the water was lapping up against me - I'm not one for too much risk and left it at that rather than stand a further 8 minutes or so in the dark with water getting deeper. I may try to get the milky way on another clear night but probably won't insert it into this shot - strange opinion I have about composites .

Cape Kiwanda
Oregon
I waited and waited for some water action over our couple of days here. There was a nice sunset but no accompanying high waves and water trailing down the rocks here. Next time!!

Abiqua Falls
Oregon
I had heard that finding these falls was a bit of an adventure. Firstly, though I took the correct forest road, I went down a 'new' logging path by mistake where some loggers kindly redirected me. Next, I found ' a path' down to the creek but realised it was the wrong path when I ended up glissading down slopes which were insanely steep. Then, of course the walk was incredible, the waterfall was awesome, and as I hiked back to the car, I saw a friendly path with ropes! Abiqua Falls - if you haven't heard of them, try to make time to visit if you're in the Portland area ;)
