Llactapata Ruins , Inca Trail, Peru, 2007
This is the classic view from the first day of the Inca trail. When we were there, it was raining, very gray and all a bit miserable but the views were nonetheless still glorious (with a bit of imagination and nostalgia). Through the top of the ruins, runs a set of rather nasty looking power lines which I've removed just for the purposes of display. 4 colour balance layers later and this is the result - at least, this is what I imagine it would look like when it isn't raining and misty!

Horseshoe Falls, Mount Field National Park , Tasmania
An old unprocessed shot from Horseshoe falls during our wanderings in Tassie last year. Really difficult day to shoot waterfalls with nothing but bright sun and the occasional small cloud drifting by - sooo, as I keep saying, this place will need a revisit!
Taken with polariser and 2 stop circular ND.
Edited in CS4 : - Shadow highlight layer to bring out the foreground and reduce the waterfall glare, Gaussian blur layer to reduce water grain, Green and orange colour balance layers to pop em, desaturated layer to get rid of nasty red and blue chromatic aberrations, high pass filter layer for sharpening.

Cape Raoul , Tasmania, 2008
Another image from Cape Hauy's vertigo inducing cliff side walk. Sheer drop of a few hunderedfeet 1 m from this shot - that certainly kept me back. To get to this point, it's about a 2 hour walk from Fortescue Bay which is 15km off the highway on a driveable dirt road.

Tessellated Pavement , Pirate's Bay , Tasmania, 2008
Another of our shots from the famous Tessellated pavement demontrating the "loaf" formation of rock (and pans in the distance) that gives it its almost man-made look. We set out from Hobart at 3am to get here by dawn but sadly, no colourful sunrise, just a murky grey day which had a slight magenta cast on long exposures ! This was a 50 second exposure in semi darkness - needed plenty of rotation to get the horizon straight..wtb night vision

Cradle Mountain, Tasmania , 2008
Delving through more Tassie shots today. This shot was taken while walking to the boat shed alond dove lake. Rapidly changing light conditions made for a very interesting hour or so. Weather conditions were wild as you might see from the plant motion and it was pretty cold too!
