Cataract Gorge
Launceston
This was the first dawn of our trip to Tasmania. It was a grey dawn as I wandered around the darkness of Cataract Gorge hoping to spot something in the dark (having never been there before). For the 5 minutes from 655 to 7am, this happened in the sky and I happened to be at the right place and the right time to capture it reflected it in the water.

Fairy Pools
Scotland
The Isle of Skye is one of the most beautiful places to visit - providing the weather is good enough. For 3 of the 6 days we were there, it was just that. The Fairy pools can be easily accessed from the roadside heading toward Glen Brittle in the south part of the Isle and is famous for its beautiful coloured waters, cascades set with the Black Cuillins in the background.

Victoria Square
Adelaide
Starting off this year, I took a timelapse video of New Year's Eve. While one camera was firing off continuously, I set up the other to take more dedicated stills for the evening. This was one of them taken from a median strip with trams passing each way (2 exposures).
Happy New Year and enjoy the timelapse here :

Lake Mackenzie
New Zealand
This is another image from that fantastic sunset on the Routeburn track after a rain sodden day. I was taking some pure reflection shots before I realised that there were some fallen leaves around the foreground rocks which is what I focussed on when the light turned even pinker!

Purakaunui Falls
New Zealand
This waterfall in the Catlins Forest Reserve is one of South Island's photographic icons. At the time Marianne and I were there, the water flow was quite low but the following day, after heavy rains, it transformed itself. At this particular spot in the stream, the foam was just a solid blob. I thought it might be nice to create a little eddie, so I went for a little twist in the middle of the foam to see if I could change the water motion a little. This is the result - good thing Marianne and I were alone or others may have been wondering what I was doing ;P
