Από την Γεροπλίνα,έναν ορμίσκο-μικρό επίγειο παράδεισο,άγνωστο στους πολλούς , ξεκινά μονοπάτι το οποίο οδηγεί σε περίπου10 λεπτά με τα πόδια,στον φάρο. Μέχρι πριν από λίγα χρόνια εκεί κατοικούσε μόνιμος φαροφύλακας, ενώ τώρα η λειτουργία του είναι αυτόματη.
Ο φάρος κατασκευάστηκε το 1854 από την Γαλλική Εταιρεία Φάρων. Το ύψος του πύργου του είναι 9 μέτρα και το εστιακό του ύψος είναι 16 μέτρα. Κτίστηκε σε δύο οικοδομικές φάσεις, η πρώτη το 1854 από τη Γαλλική εταιρεία των Οθωμανικών φάρων, κατά την οποία κτίστηκε το φαρόσπιτο, ενώ το φωτιστικό σώμα βρίσκονταν στην κορυφή μεταλλικού πύργου και εντάχθηκε στο Ελληνικό φαρικό δίκτυο το 1881 με την προσάρτηση της Θεσσαλίας στο Ελληνικό κράτος. Στη δεύτερη οικοδομική φάση κτίστηκε ο πύργος του φάρου το 1918 από το Ελληνικό Δημόσιο, ο οποίος είναι τετράγωνος και έχει ύψος 9 μέτρων. Στο επάνω επίπεδο μέρος του πύργου πατά ο κυλινδρικός μεταλλικός κλωβός, ο οποίος στεγάζει το φωτιστικό σώμα το οποίο βρίσκεται σε εστιακό ύψος 16 μέτρων από την επιφάνεια της θάλασσας. Το 2001 χαρακτηρίστηκε από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού ως ιστορικό διατηρητέο μνημείο.

Αν ο παράδεισος έχει κάποιο απάνεμο χώρο για να ελλιμενίζονται οι βαρκούλες των “αλιέων ανθρώπων“ ασφαλώς θα μοιάζει πολύ με τούτο τον επίγειο…ομόλογό του,τον γραφικότατο ορμίσκο που μαζί με 4-5 σπιτάκια αποτελούν το χωριό Γεροπλίνα.
Από το μικρό εκκλησάκι του-καθ'ύλην αρμοδίου-Άη Νικόλα το οποίο διακρίνεται δεξιά,ξεκινάει το μονοπάτι για τον υπέροχο φάρο στον οποίο αναφέρθηκα σε προηγούμενη ανάρτηση.

If the paradise has some loose space to dock the boats of the "fishermen of people" it will surely resemble this earthly ... homologue, the picturesque cove that with 4-5 houses make up the village of Geroplina.From the small chapel of-who other's-Agios Nikolaos, which stands on the right, begins the path for the magnificent lighthouse I mentioned in a previous post.

Επιστροφή από το θαλασσινό κομμάτι των διακοπών μας με δύο ημέρες …καθυστέρηση.Πέρυσι που είχαμε παραθερίσει στο ίδιο ακριβώς μέρος(Κάλαμος ,επίνειο της Αργαλαστής,στο νότιο Πήλιο) δεν είχα βγάλει ούτε μία φωτογραφία σε 8 ημέρες λόγω αδιάφορων καιρικών και φωτιστικών συνθηκών!!!
Εφέτος όμως οι δύο-τρείς ημέρες που ο καιρός «αγρίεψε» στάθηκαν καλή αφορμή για κοντινές εξορμήσεις και καμιά…1500αριά λήψεις!
Οκτώ εξ αυτών-κάθετο κάδρο στα 14mm σε συρραφή πανοράματος-βλέπετε στην παρούσα ανάρτηση όπου απεικονίζεται σε συνολική γωνία 270° το ακρωτήριο Καβούλια και ο επ’αυτού περίφημος φάρος .Λίγα λόγια γι αυτόν αφού τονίσω ότι οι φωτογραφίες αυτές οφείλονται εν πολλοίς στην μανία της συζύγου να αναδιφεί …μέχρις εσχάτων στους τουριστικούς οδηγούς!
