Eptapyrgio is the fortified part of Thessaloniki's Acropolis at Macedonia prefecture,Greece (Hellas) .
The original construction of its walls dates back to the early Christian-early Byzantine times, while subsequent interventions and additions cover the entire historical route until the end of the turkish occupation.
In the 19th century part of it was converted into a prison,the famous Yedi Kule. (Yedi=7 Kule=tower,castle)
The monument was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
