I know, it has been done before, but I hadn't done it yet. It was pretty slippery to get to that place. The way down was much easier and from a different slope - now I know how to get up there. This is my first picture on full frame from my own camera. A classic, taken with another classic.

The waterfall is 60 m high and the cliffs you can see marked the coastline once upon a distant time.

Volcanoes can be beautiful both active and innactive, as the case here. This one played havoc with European air traffic a couple of years ago. The mountain / glacier is sometimes referred to as "E15", probably because it begins with E, and 15 letters follow. Eyjafjallajökull.

There must be some wind currents that simply bring the clouds up and down like a roller coaster, 'cause my horizon is straight, but the clouds are on a swing. You can see the same in the picture bellow (same place, a little later)

Most people will see the sun rise and set always toward the east, and west. Here the sun is setting (in Iceland), May 5, 10:45 PM on the clock, and that point is north west.

This is the southern tip of Heimaey, the main island of the Westman archipelago. This little peninsula on the left of my picture is a very VERY windy place (not the case when I was there).

An importart weather station is located there -Stórhöfði-, inhabited since 1921. It has a wind record registration of 220 km/h, February 3rd 1991, but the meteorologist assures that the wind did reach 240 km/h (67 m/s) - as published in Morgunblaðið Newspaper.

Two volcanoes and two of the Westman Islands (Iceland) in the background.

The red volcano, Eldfell, is still warm, and it ceased activity in July 1973, leaving the evacuated town under a heavy layer of ash, and a lot of new lava in the surroundings.

The 'green' volcano, Helgafell, is a dormant volcano. It hasn't erupted for 5000 years, or so they say. A population of 4100 people live and thrive at the feet of those two volcanoes.
