Probably my most favorite of this years Alaskan brown (grizzly) bear images was taken along the Russian River on the Kenai Penninsula. From my perspective, the lighting was just right and, as you can see, the bear was not at all interested in my presence. All rights reserved.

One of the more photogenic of the west coast's and Oregon's lighthouses. Caught in the beginning of a complete afternoon fog Heceta Head stands tall above some rocks and Devil's Elbow. Heceta Head Light is about 15 miles north of Florence and, perhaps, 3 miles north of the Sea Lion's Cave. Because of their role for those lost and their steadfast, never changing position, lighthouses images are generally revered and frequently adorned with scripture.
