New Year's dive Wijk aan Zee. A few hundred participants here. In total 27.000 warm-blooded took a dive along the Dutch North Sea coast. I missed the plunge because of the lack of an operational RC-rig and because of bad timing (the crowd ran to the sea before the starting signal was given. Att that moment my rig made its obligatory round and was pointed in another direction :0) :0( ) Nevertheless I had a good time!

In this coastal area our drinking water is purified by dunesand. This spot, where the already partly filtered freshwater (from the IJsselmeer) appears at the surface, is called "the jellyfish". From above it looks like the evil eye, or a black hole. © Tom Kisjes
