The Netherlands - Zaandam
On the bank of river Zaan the former Zwaardemaker barley hulling factory stands out. In 1810 the company started with hulling mills, after which this 33 m. high early example of concrete building was erected in 1914. From the year 1929 Zwaardemaker also started producing compound feed. Ultimately the building was transformed into an apartment complex by order of housing corporation Patrimonium in 2006.
