Following the old sea dike in Zaanstad. This water is situated next to the dike and is what we call a "braak". It is a relic from a horrible North Sea storm tide on Christmasnight 1717, when this dike breached. In the Netherlands, Germany and Scandinavia 14.000 people lost their lives. A lot of cattle was lost and all that caused economical decline.

A view on our dairy farmer closest to town centre. I measured it via Google Earth; exactly 1 km. I think that's remarkable (and a bonus) for a town with 150.000 inhabitants.
