The Netherlands - dijkgat Wieringermeer
A kite aerial view on the spot where the Germans blew two holes in the IJsselmeer dyke on 17-04-1945, eighteen days before the end of World War II. Wieringermeer polder (in the background) flooded within two days and forced desperate farmers and other inhabitants to leave their farms, land and other possessions.
