The Afsluitdijk is a major landmark (or a watermark, if you will) in the Netherlands. The dike was completed in 1933 and leads you in 32 km from Den Oever in North Holland to the province Friesland.
It is a fundamental part of the larger Zuiderzee Works, damming off the Zuiderzee, a salt water inlet of the North Sea and turning it into a fresh water lake (the IJsselmeer).
Image made with kite and camera (attached to the kite line).
