Here I go again imprinting human emotions onto a bird.
I would love to know what they are really thinking. Perhaps I should meet up with Dr Doolittle?

One of our local cormorants.
The birds seem to have taken to perching on an old metal post just off the jetty. This makes it relatively easy to catch them in flight

This shot was taken with the intention of cropping it into a portrait. However I kind of like it how it is.
This young lady was happy to sit on her fence post, whilst I fired off numerous shots. She was busy hunting with her companion. Pics of him to follow later.
I have never known the owls to be so oblivious to me, seemingly performing for the camera. Yesterdays pic was a few minutes later, when she entertained me, with a close up flying display.

The promise of a bright and sunny morning turned out to be far from the case. Instead on offer was a damp and dreary affair.
I had gone out in the hope of getting some good flight shots of my new pair at the forest. Sadly they were no where to be seen.
As is the story with owls it's always worth checking out the area. I had just driven past the barn when I saw my original barn male hunting in the rain. He quickly moved off as I took a few shots. On returning back to the barn Mrs Barnie was now out and happy to carry on hunting whilst I watched.
The fact that both were out hunting in the rain is a little unusual. Perhaps the number of voles is in short supply.
