It's springtime in New Hampshire and we got about 20 inches of snow a few days ago. Once I was able to get out of the driveway, I headed over to this location in Bethlehem for a photo of a misty moon rising over Mount Washington and the Presidential Range. The photo was taken during blue hour.

It's autumn at the 100 acre Cherry Pond in Jefferson, New Hampshire. The pond is part of the Pondicherry Wildlife Refuge, jointly owned and managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the New Hampshire Audubon, and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. It has been designated a National Natural Landmark.

The mountains in the background, part of the Presidential Range, include (from right) Mt. Washington, Mt. Clay, Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Adams, and Mt. Madison. If you zoom in, you may be able to see the weather observatory at the top of Mt. Washington.

The birds in the foreground are Canada Geese, species Branta canadensis.

The autumn foliage is at peak color at this lake in the rural town of Barnet, Vermont. Peak foliage was about a week earlier than normal this year.

This is Peacham, Vermont as seen from the hills of East Peacham. If you are familiar with Peacham, you may recognize the Peacham Fire Department and the entrance to the Peacham Cemetery. Also partially visible is the church, red barn, and sheds that together are one of the most photographed scenes in all of Vermont. The general store, which is the only store in town, is partially visible. The road running downwards from the center of town is Old Cemetery Road, heading towards East Peacham. At the far left, you may be able to see the building and dome of the Northern Skies Observatory.
