'UFO Invasion' by Banksy.

The last of the 'Banksy versus Bristol Museum' uploads. Like everyone else I photographed pretty much everything but I'll let others document the whole exhibition. Maybe it was down to Banksys stated 'Copyright is for losers', maybe it was because Bristol Museum wanted to make the most of their 15 minutes in the spotlights, but it was so refreshing to be able to take photos in a museum.

I think it's fair to say the 'Banksy versus Bristol Museum' Exhibition started off controversial and secretive but it's ended up being an amazing success. By the time the three month long exhibition ends on the 31st August it will have been visited by approx. 250,000 people, making it one of this years biggest exhibitions.

I think it's fair to assume that the additonal income to tourism created will go some way to paying for the removal of a fair bit of the cities grafitti over the last twenty years.

'Angel of the North' by Banksy.

I've uploaded two variations of photos of the same Banksy statue from the Banksy versus Bristol Museum Exhibition. It's interesting to see how a slight change in viewpoint, a change in contrast and a change in focal length can produce a dramatically different photo.

In this version she looks decidedly less angelic. The image is 'uglier', presumably more in line with the message of the piece.

'Angel of the North' by Banksy.

This version looks a bit more coy, more in line with its Classical origins.

'Agency Job (Gleaners)' by Banksy. A remix of an original painting by Jean-Francois Millet.

Amongst all of the Banksy works in the 'Banksy versus Bristol Museum' Exhibition I found the most effective (for me anyway) were the paintings scattered throughout the Museums permanent Collection, and particularly those that commented on 'Museum Culture'.
