My first upload from my recent trip to Poland, this is a fisheye shot of the interior of the Cathedral in Rzeszów. Due to our visit coinciding with the Popes visit to Krakow churches everywhere we went were full of worshippers and this one proved no exception.

From Wikipedia : "Rzeszów is the biggest city in southeastern Poland, with a population of 186,995 in 2016. It is located on both sides of the Wisłok in the heartland of the Sandomierska Valley. The city, which was granted a town charter in 1354, has been the capital of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship since 1999, and is also the seat of Rzeszów County.
Rzeszów is served by an international airport, is a member of Eurocities, and is home to a number of higher education schools and foreign consulates."

This massive monument stands at a junction near the centre of Rzeszow and was erected in 1970 to commemorate the overthrow of the Nazis. I've included my friend Thomas as I thought it useful to give an indication of scale in this early morning shot.

Rzeszów in South-Eastern Poland is slightly of the usual tourist route but that's what made it the perfect start to our recent Poland trip. The Town Hall can be found on the edge of a very attractive Old Town Square (Rynek), whilst not the biggest in the area it wasn't marred by the tourist paraphernalia that some cities squares such as Krakow were.

The colourful exterior of the Basilica of the Assumption in Rzeszów. The Communist era Monument to the Revolutionary Deed can be seen in the background.
