Not that it's made an enormous difference but I was keen to get out the Queens House in Greenwich to photograph the famous Tulip stair whilst I had my hired 10.5mm fisheye lens. This is pretty much one of the last shots I took during the #Photo24London event before my dash back to Convent Garden for the end of the 24 hour event.

I think this year I probably only took about half as many shots as last year. The weather played a large part in that, although we didn't have much rain it was overcast for most of the time compared to last year which was pretty much consistantly sunny. Quite a lot of my photos are interiors as they less weather dependant.

Anyone bored with these yet.......?

The light was starting to fail by the time I took these shots of the model Ivory Flame but what light there was added a touch of warmth to the images, particularly with regards to her hair.

You can see more shots of Ivory Flame here from this shoot as well as a previous studio shoot here : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/sets/72157625250850037

Having had a little longer to consider this shot of the Olafur Eliasson 'Your Rainbow panorama' I think maybe it's better cropped to a square format ? I'm not sure the top and bottom of the frame add much but I'd be interested to know what you think ?

Click here for more shots of Olafur Eliasson's work : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/sets/72157652107096126

From Wikipedia : 'Olafur's artwork Your rainbow panorama consists of a circular, 150 metres (490 ft) long and 3 metres (9.8 ft) wide corridor made of glass in every color of the spectrum. It has a diameter of 52 metres (171 ft) and is mounted on 3.5 metres (11 ft) high columns on top of the roof of the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum in Aarhus. It opened in May 2011. Visitors can walk through the corridor and have a panoramic view of the city. Construction cost 60 million Danish kroner and was funded by the Realdania foundation.

Olafur's idea was chosen in 2007 among five other proposals in a bidding process by a panel of judges. At night the artwork is lit from the inside by spotlights in the floor.'

This shot shows the so-called Iceberg Apartments on the harbourfront in Aarhus, taken from the ferry just as we were docking. Apparently the design maximises views over the water from the individual apartments. Isbjerget (The Iceberg) by JDS Architects won the 2013 MIPIM Awards.

From Wikipedia : "Aarhus Docklands (Danish: Aarhus Ø) is a new neighbourhood and construction project in Aarhus, Denmark.

Beginning in 2007, the Aarhus Dockland is currently a large construction site with many buildings already built as of 2014 and in coming years the project will convert the area and the former container port, Nordhavn (lit.: North Docks) to a whole new residential, educational and commercial area, consisting of several high rise buildings of modern architectural designs"

This new light tunnel at Kings Cross Station has been on my 'list' for a while so I was glad to get there during this years #Photo24London event. Despite being mid-afternoon it was mostly deserted but there were just enough people around to add interest to the space.

I've less than 12 hours to upload shots to the Competition groups so I'm going to uploading quite a few between now and 6pm.

From a Kings Cross Press Release : "A new tunnel, with integrated light wall, opened yesterday at King’s Cross. The 90m long tunnel, which has a LED integrated light-wall running its entire length, was designed by Speirs + Major and delivered by The Light Lab. The tunnel itself has been designed by architects Allies & Morrison and links St Pancras International and King’s Cross St Pancras Underground stations to the new public spaces, restaurants, offices and homes at King’s Cross.

Commuters were treated to something a little different on Monday morning, as the tunnel was open to the public, with commuters able to enjoy the debut light installation called Pipette. The dedicated art work on display was created by Miriam Sleeman (The Cross Kings) and Tom Sloan (Tom Sloan Design) and is designed to evoke the colourful tapestry of King’s Cross through a tranquil yet animated design."
