I saw this guy disappearing down a side street near the Pompidou in the Marais district of Paris. I had to grab the shot in a hurry but it was the contre jour lighting that made this special for me.

As we were leaving Ephesus we happened upon a group acting out typical Roman scenes, the whole thing only lasted five minutes at most. If I'd known it would end so abruptly, I would've taken more photos but I do have some sympathy with the actors as they were standing in the heat of the midday sun, most of the spectators were under a tree.

The actors at Ephesus disappeared as quickly as they'd appeared but at least they'd given us all a taste of Roman life, reminding us all that real people had once walked the now ruined streets.

I must admit I don't know the name of the Giffords Circus Opera Singer (Catherine Zeta-Jones maybe ?) but she wore a striking costume and made for a great photographic subject seen here in a candid moment against the deep red velvet curtains of the backdrop.

I suspect that this shot may be one of those shots that not everyone likes, but as one of the categories of the Olympus Circus Photographic Spectacular event at Giffords Circus was 'Motion' I thought I'd try some long exposures. Some might think it looks like an out-take.....
