A striking cafe found at the very rear of the Science Museum in South Kensington.

This is one of my favourite shots from the recent 24hr London photoshoot I took part in. Organised by Advanced Photographer Magazine it was a great opportunity to spend some time photographing our wonderful capital city even if it turned out to be more a challenge than I'd anticipated mostly due to the huge distance walked and the less than perfect weather.

Update : Winner of 'Best overall image' in the Photo24 Competition. See Issue 34 of Advanced Photographer for an article on the Photo24 Challenge.

I thought the uncropped version of this shot of the infinity pool at the Paloma Club Sultan was one of my favourite shots from my trip to Turkey last week, but a square crop and bit of extra contrast later and now I have a new front runner. Think it's quite possible one of the most beautiful photos I've taken.....

One of my favourite photos from my recent trip to Budapest, this slightly Gothic looking shot of the Fishermans Bastion is an example of using the weather conditions in my favour (well, I think the snow adds to the shot but some may disagree).

More shots from my trip : www.flickr.com/photos/darrellg/sets/72157633231395473/det...

From Wikipedia : "The Halászbástya or Fisherman's Bastion is a terrace in neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque style situated on the Buda bank of the Danube, on the Castle hill in Budapest, around Matthias Church. It was designed and built between 1895 and 1902 on the plans of Frigyes Schulek. Between 1947–48, the son of Frigyes Schulek, János Schulek, conducted the other restoration project after its near destruction during World War II.

From the towers and the terrace a panoramic view exists of Danube, Margaret Island, Pest to the east and the Gellért Hill. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896.

The Bastion takes its name from the guild of fishermen that was responsible for defending this stretch of the city walls in the Middle Ages. It is a viewing terrace, with many stairs and walking paths."

Using the interruption to the uploading of my Turkey shots created by yesterdays Advanced Photographer Magazine posting I though I'd upload a few shots taken at an University of Oxford Graduation Ceremony last weekend. This shot of a woman jumping for joy was one of my favourites, it's one of those cliches I was missing for my upcoming Blurb Oxford book.

I know I've said (on at least one occasion) that I wouldn't upload any more shots of the infinity pool of the Paloma Club Sultan but then every time I look at my RAW files I see another shot I feel would be a shame just to sit on my hard drive......

Here I 'poached' a shot of a woman having her portraits taken by the hotel photographer, I felt this justified as ordinarily you weren't allowed to stand on the side wall of the infinity pool.......
