Standing on the Strand on Monday with about a million other people waiting for the Team GB Victory Parade (or the 'Our Greatest Team Parade' to give it it's Official title) I was rather jealous of the viewpoint these first floor windows would have given. Trouble is as the athletes spent most of the time looking at the crowd I wouldn't have got so many shots with eye contact (well, looking in my general direction anyway......)

Probably one of my favourite shots of the London 2012 Orbit Tower, the viewpoint shows the Anish Kapoor / Cecil Balmond designed structure at it's most elegant and the last rays of the early evening sunshine give the shot a lovely warm glow.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it would seem, at least with the London 2012 Orbit Tower, it depends to a greater extent on where the beholders eye is. From some angles it's an elegant and (almost) beautiful structure, from others it's a tangled mess of red painted steel.

And now for something a bit different. This shot of a masked spectator was taken at the Paralympics last week. Obviously a keen Team GB fan but I do wonder how much he can actually see through the mask.

For those that didn't visit the Viewtube before it closed about a month ago, this is the cafe / educational centre at the official viewing area for the London 2012 Olympic Park. Not that you can or should compare but I don't imagine the Chinese having such a low key temporary building made out of shipping containers for Beijing 2008.
