Lifesize statues of the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama in the Selfridges Department Store window on Oxford Street, taken last Summer. Yesterdays square format shot is currently Explore, my first of 2013, so it would seem other people find her work fascinating too.
From Wikipedia : "Kusama's work is based in conceptual art and shows some attributes of feminism, minimalism, surrealism, Art Brut, pop art, and abstract expressionism, and is infused with autobiographical, psychological, and sexual content. Kusama is also a published novelist and poet, and has created notable work in film and fashion design. Major retrospectives of her work have been held at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, and Tate Modern, whilst in 2008 Christies New York sold a work by her for $5.1 million, a record for a living female artist."

Setting the World Record for the most 'Picnic Tables with Colourful Umbrellas', this shot of the London 2012 Olympic Park was taken from the top of the Anish Kapoor designed Orbit Tower.

My favourite of the few shots I took standing in this spot next to the Ben Youssef Mosque, I think the square crop really helps with the composition reinforcing the central placement of he shuttered window.
