In this shot taken from the tower of Notre Dame the full alien nature of the Pompidou can be appreciated. You do wonder if they bothered to clear the buildings that once stood there or if this building wasn't just lowered down on top of them (I still think it's great though).

Compared to the image below, the lower viewpoint and crop have led to more structured composition, not quite sure which I prefer, this one os probably the better photo, the one below maybe captures the feeling of being inside the Pompidou better.
