It was the shadows of the entrance gate to Blenheim Palace that caught my eye. Not quite sure why, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but I've gone for a combination of sepia and colour having retained the gold of the gate itself.

I apologise for lying yesterday, this is actually my favourite photo from my trip to the South Coast last Summer, probably one of my favourites from last year.

I think the composition works well as the red boat in the foreground catches your eye first for its colour and textures but the blue boat then holds it and tells you more about the subject.

Compared to some of the other shots I took of the Arab World Institutes entrance structure this one does show there's some method to the apparent 'madness', it's not just a jumble of random shapes which you might have thought from the shot below. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can confirm whether there's any significance of a five pointed star in Islamic culture.

I've gone for an 11mm wideangle shot of the Sacre Coeur to include as much of the sky as possible, as well as adding drama to the shot it helps balance the composition.
