It seems a bit perverse uploading a Summertime photo when we've had three of four inches of snow overnight but it's reassuring to think that Spring is round the corner, and then Summer will be here.

The Brocas is a meadow next to the Thames in Windsor that is a popular picnic spot in Summer. As the Sun sets it gives good views of the Castle. Trouble is to get to you have to cross the bridge to Eton and walk down some backsteets.

The name comes from the Brocas family who were local nobility in the 13th Century, notably Sir Bernard Brocas, Master of the Horse to King Edward III, and good friend of the Black Prince. Sir Bernard Brocas died in 1395 and was buried in St. Edmund's Chapel in Westminster Abbey.

The intention was to position the sun behind the dandelion head but unfortunately Lauren wouldn't stand still for more than two seconds. Even my wife's use of the magic word 'Chocolate' didn't make any difference as Lauren knew we didn't have any with us. Oh well, I'll try again another day. With some Chocolate.
