Pictures taken at the Victory Park during the Chorley v Darlington match in the Vanarama National League North.

Despite two goals from debutant Andrew Nelson, Darlington’s winless run stretched to eight games with a 3-2 defeat at Chorley.

The conditions were dereadful with strong wind and freezing, driving rain silky football was thin on the ground.

Nelosn opened the scoring on on 39 minutes with a cool dink over the onrushing goalkeeper after being played in by Harvey Saunders.

But Chorley started the second half on top, with Darlington unable to hold the ball in the opposition half despite having the wind behind them, and the Lancashire club levelled on 55 minutes.

Striker Marcus Carver got it following a corner after a header by Andy Teague was palmed away by Jonny Maddison.

Chorley turned the game on its head with a quickfire double scoring in the 67th and 68th minutes, first through defender Andy Teague and then Alex Newby.

Chorley went 2-1 up when Andy Teague blasted home following a pull-back on the byline when Darlington had been unable to clear a cross, and within 60 seconds it was 3-1.

A cross from the left was spilled by Maddison, Newby taking a touch and firing home the loose ball.

Darlington did pull one back, however, with Nelson again on target with a classy finish when one-on-one.
