Humphrey Brothers Builders' Merchants
This builders’ merchants can be traced back to 1921, when brothers Joseph and William first traded at no 12 Birmingham Street, Oldbury. By the early 1930s the business had grown to include no. 14 and eventually, by the late 1940s, the brothers were operating out of no. 16 as well.
The shop looks as it might have done in the late 1930s, when it was supplying a range of fireplaces, grates, W.C.s, sinks, paints, varnishes and wallpapers
The Old Birmingham Road shows a snapshot of style during the house-building boom of the 1930s.

H. Morrall's Gentlemens’ Outfitters was originally a familiar sight in Hall Street, Dudley, where he traded from 1928 to 1935. The shop is set in 1935, when it would have stocked men’s clothing such as shirts, collars, cufflinks, collar studs, hats, ties, socks and possibly underwear

The boiler house at the Racecourse Colliery
The Racecourse Collier yat the Black Country Living Museum
The ground beneath the Museum site was once mined for coal, limestone, fireclay, and ironstone. More than 40 old mine shafts are shown on old plans and around one of these shafts, Racecourse Colliery has been built as a typical small Black Country coalpit.
The colliery was so named because the land on which it stands was originally the Dudley Racecourse which was closed when the railway line from Dudley to Wolverhampton was built in 1846.
Racecourse Colliery is shown as it would have been in about 1910
