I have been enjoying a little bit of time off so this is a photo from my archives that I missed out on posting here for some reason.

The iconic Moeraki Boulders, or at least two of them, on the east coast of New Zealand's south island, on a moody morning with the receding tide providing great water movement. These strange rocks looked like alien entities emerging from under the water.

A moody and dynamic scene from the south coast of Western Australia. The sun threatened to burst through right at sunset but it stayed hidden behind the clouds.

This will be my last post before Christmas, so I wish you, my friends, all the best for the Festive Season!

Fjaðrárgljúfur is a rather well known location by now for various reasons and it is a beautiful spot as well. It is understood that it formed around 10,000 years ago so what you can see here truly are remains of time. Especially, when you consider that the foundations for its creation would have been laid by nature many many years earlier.

Natural harbour in the village of Gjógv on Eysturoy in the Faroe Islands. Dark, overcast and rainy conditions were a constant companion during our travels through the Faroes.

The sun desperately tries to break through dark clouds as it rises over the Reynisfjara Beach and the famous basalt sea stacks - Reynisdrangar, in Iceland.

Sometimes it pays to look around behind you, or in this case in the rear view mirror of my car, to see an amazing sight opening up just when you least expect it.
