I previously posted a black and white impression from this location. This time I present a colour version of the remains of old moorings and harbour at Flying Fish Cove on Christmas Island. I took this long exposure at sunset, few hours after I worked on the monochrome image.

Ethereal sunset mood at Lake Dowerin in Western Australia, with strange dead trees and surreal feeling to the landscape. Long exposure seemed like the perfect expression for this scene.

I have been enjoying a little bit of time off so this is a photo from my archives that I missed out on posting here for some reason.
The iconic Moeraki Boulders, or at least two of them, on the east coast of New Zealand's south island, on a moody morning with the receding tide providing great water movement. These strange rocks looked like alien entities emerging from under the water.

This is arguably my favourite photo of this year so far. When exploring Torndirrup National Park on the south coast of Western Australia, I came across this scene which instantly sent out a "long exposure alert" in my mind. The glow of the fading light illuminated the canal between the rocks, the clouds moved quite fast in the sky and the water shimmered gently right in front of me. There was no dramatic wave action but there was just enough of water moving between the rocks to create a misty effect that I envisioned.

A second take from a great sunset that we experienced here in Perth back in late June. The previous photo had a more golden overtone to it as it was taken right after the sun went down. This one was about ten minutes later when the sky turned red in what was a kind of a second coming or rebirth of the sunset. Between the two moments, the sky "switched off" almost completely with the clouds going dark and grey. I thought for a second that the evening was done before it burst into life again.
