Just love that creamy bokeh of the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8. I was about 9 meters from the model.

The red flowers on the grass are from the so-called 'flamboyant' trees which are in full bloom during the month of December in Mauritius. They indeed make a nice red carpet.

I must admit that the lighting could have been better. I was using a SB900 without any modifier (I ruined my only reflective umbrella prior to this shot), I completely forgot that I could increase the ISO (I was already at max. aperture F/2.8) to get a better exposure on the model. Well, lessons learned for next time :-)
But in the end, I am very happy with the results of this unexpected low key shot.

First of all, a Happy New Year to all of you!
I just came back from my native island Mauritius where I spent the end of 2011 with my family. I took this opportuniy to do some model shooting again. This was my first time to experiment with a SB900, Pocket Wizards and a reflective umbrella. It was a lot of trial and error, as well as some frustration. The learning curve is still long! :)
For the little story, this lovely forest was totally infested with mosquitoes. Luckily I had mosquito repellent spray, but kudos to Deeya who did not use any of it!
