From by Beirut archives. No HDR, no Digital Blending (am I getting lazy or what?), processed from a single RAW. I am really starting to enjoy playing with Adobe Camera RAW in CS3, and also thanks to Photoshop guru Scott Kelby's "7-Point System" book.

Old Stones Of Byblos

Taken in an archeological site in Byblos. The city of Byblos is located 42 kms north of Beirut, and it is believed to have been founded around 5000 BC.

4 exposures Digital Blending, handheld, no tone-mapping. I found out that for daylight shots, the auto bracketing of the D300 is so fast that I don't really need a tripod (and also thanks to Photoshop CS3 alignment feature).

The city of Jounieh, located 15km north of Beirut is known for its seaside resorts and nightclubs, as well as its old stone souk. This shot was taken from the shrine of Our Lady Of Lebanon in Harissa.

Digital Blending 4 exposures, handheld. Thanks to Photoshop CS3 for always doing an excellent job aligning the exposures.

Place de l'Etoile, downtown Beirut. Taken last Sunday from the terrace of a cafe where I was enjoying a drink with my wife.

Handheld 5 exposures HDR, only the buildings are tone-mapped (to enhance the details). The sky has been replaced with the -2EV exposure, the street has been replaced with the 0EV exposure (to avoid ghosting of the moving people). Therefore, not much left of the original HDR!

I posted a similar shot earlier, but this one is a Vertorama, and I also used Digital Blending instead of HDR/tone mapping. The framing is also different (used my Tamron 17-50mm here). I prefer this version over the HDR tone mapped one.
