Roman rings with precious stones, from about 50 A.D. to 300 A.D.
The Römer Museum (Museum of the Romans) is newly opened to the public and shows some of the finds from the Roman colonia - and it is well worth a visit. It is really one of the best museums I've been to!
Colonia Ulpia Traiana was a Roman colony which has been partly excavated and partly reconstructed, close to the modern town of Xanten (we're talking walking distance here).

Side of wedding-dress from 1831-33 - Cotton muslin with wool embroidery, silk satin and wadded rouleaux. Made in either Britain or France. It was donated to the museum by Mr Le Cocq.

An example of the late Georgian fashion, a wedding dress dating to 1829 - unfortunately the museum gave no more information than the date. At the Fashion Museum, Bath - at their wedding exhibition they had in 2011. (Excuse the far from perfect quality - I was shooting through glass in a rather dimly lit room, and the camera was hand held.)
And note that both the 'bouquet' and hair-piece are not exactly historically correct.
