A young couple, captured by the photographer Märta Nicodemi in Stockholm. She had her studio at Hamngatan from 1908 and for about 10 years (when she married a fellow photographer and they moved their studio to Drottninggatan, working together there). There is nothing of the back of the photo except a handwritten 'Emil'. So no clue to who the woman is, but from their posing I think it's safe to assume it is his fiancée. Perhaps it is even her copy of the photo - that would explain why his name is there but not hers.
And I think we can date the photo to the early days of the studio - on most of the preserved photos from Nicodemi I have seen (on the Internet) the cardboard frame is more elaborate with her name and address, not just a simple stamp added onto the finished product (as you can see here if you look closely), but it would have saved her money to do so if she was just starting up and the funds might have been rather tight, or at least unsure.
