CDV from 1881 (the year is printed on the back) of a blond woman from Christiania (the then name of Oslo). She wears a dress of a rather coarse material (perhaps wool) but with a very fashionable crinkled front and what seems to be a watch on a chain around her neck (could also be a medallion, but the size would be right for a watch). Taken by the photographer L. Szacinski. Szacinski, or Ludwik Szaciński de Ravics to give his full name, was born in Poland and came to Norway in 1865. He came to be one of the leading photographers of the town and is considered to be one of the best photographers in Norway of his time.
