Hello Flickr friends ☺

Captured this scene a few years ago during a May sunrise (at 04:57).
Another one of those slightly cold (-1°Celsius) mornings where nature blessed us with calm winds and a powerful sun glow over mirror-like waters :-)

Found this tree branch (& reflection) positioned like a diamond (or an eye) and had to hurry and take some creative shots before any large ships passed the area (as their waves would most likely reposition the branch or knock it over... which is exactly what happened a little while later!)

(( update: Many people commenting on this photo say they see two arms with intertwined hands / fingers, crossed in the sun glow... and now I see that too! ))

The warm sun glow caused a pretty mist to rise upon the water, which made the scene even more lovely for me :-)
I captured this with my older Sony HX90V and cropped the photo quite a bit to remove land from the left side and also to reposition the 'Diamond Eye' from the center area.

Hope this golden glow brings a smile your way today :-)

Happy 2019 everyone! ⛄

Hello friends! :-)
This photo was taken a week before Christmas... I'd been out on a walk to see the new fallen snow and kept hoping the sun would shine through.

It had been a very foggy winter morning... and though the fog mostly faded, the sky stayed overcast with clouds but eventually parted enough to allow some pretty blue to make an appearance :-)

I didn't see the sun directly but did see its light glowing upon fluffy clouds and making the blueness a bit brighter :-)

Everything looked as if it had been sprinkled & frosted in whiteness (which it had I suppose!)

Just a simple photo taken with my old phone (Galaxy Note 4) but I love the feel of this scene, especially the powdered branches... just had to share :-)

(not sure if my settings allow it to be seen well, but there are people on horseback riding along the treeline)

Must mention all the wonderful friends who have written me Notes, Comments & Emails recently.
I believe I've read them all now... and I truly thank you from my heart!

And to a special friend who pushed me to upload something (publicly)...
Well, I've done just that :-)
Nothing fancy, but a special moment & memory to me.

The title refers to a specific morning when I left early to capture a sunrise and then found these little gems on my way home.

Grabbed some quick pics with my phone of these pretty sunlit twins :-)
It was a lush garden area full of different flowers (all growing there wildly as far as I could tell). Morning dew & sunlight made everything more vibrant!
The bokeh background of this shot held some surprises for me, such as the bits of yellow & purple among the greenery :-)

So remember to look around and Explore Your World... you may find even more beauty than you had expected to ☺

Hello Flickr friends ☺

This photo represents one of my favorite mornings while out photographing :-)
If anything about it looks familiar, that's because it was taken in the same location and similar time as another photo posted earlier in my stream.

Temperatures of -12°C (minus twelve) that morning made it tricky to be so close to the water, but I was determined to position myself upon some rocks and shoot this scene (which included a fallen log which had became iced over during the night).

I did shoot with my Sony camera that morning, but this particular capture is a cropped photo taken from my Samsung Galaxy NOTE 4 phone. I still miss the camera on that phone!

That fog bank in the background was massive! It only allowed the sun to peer over it and not through it. A slight mist of steam rose from the frozen waters once the warmth of the sun glimmered on them, which helped to spread the glow of light around.

This series of photos has always been special to me, because I love the snow-capped rocky outcropping, the icicles hanging from the log, the sun blasting over the huge fog bank, and also the reflections on that winter morning.

Hello friends!

I'm back from vacation and will try to catch up during the coming weeks (hopefully!)

Found this pic while looking through my earlier works... taken a few days before I actually joined Flickr :-)
I remember this moment very well, because the temperature was absolutely freezing that day.
The weather report lists the high & low temps for that day as 1C & -10C (34F & 14F)!

(as for the horses, the riders only 'walked' them and didn't run them during this cold weather, so all seemed fine)

The bright light streamed across the riders and silhouetted them beautifully... while also giving shadows to the little mounds of snow and frozen grass along the ground.
I think the foggy haze was being caused by the ice crystals hanging in the air and shimmering in the bright sunlight.

It was an amazing moment for me to witness and I felt lucky to capture them, riding through the winter light :-)
