The Adair County Courthouse was built on the historic square in downtown Kirksville, Missouri in 1898. Robert G. Kirsch Jr. designed the structure, which originally had a tower that was topped by a non-blindfolded statue of lady justice holding her swift sword and scales. The tower was ultimately removed due to concerns over structural weakness, but the personification of justice was repositioned to the highest point of the roofline.

The Adair County Courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
