...come on. The decorative illumination on most buildings is time limited for power saving reasons. The usual time for "lights on" is 19:00 to 22:00. Makes it difficult to get blue hour shots with lights... - only very few buildings are lit up out of this time frame, the new "Shanghai IFC" twin towers being one of these exceptions.

The buildings in the photo are Shanghai's tallest - all three of them, even if the future tallest "Shanghai Tower" aka "Shanghai Center" aka 上海中心大厦 is still under construction.

Left to right: SWFC (492.0 m), Jin Mao Tower (420.5 m) and then the new Shanghai Tower (projected 632.0 m).

After completion in 2014 the Shanghai Tower will be the tallest building in China and the second-tallest in the world, surpassed only by the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The Shanghai Center is designed by the American architectural firm Gensler. For those interested in the progress, here is a photo taken about 6 months later, same location.
