Well, now this is an older image. While browsing through my archives I found and liked this shot taken in spring 2001 (film, not digital).

This is the "Museum Area" of the Purple Mountain Observatory (Chinese: 紫金山天文台), also known as Zijinshan Astronomical Observatory, an astronomical observatory located on the Purple Mountain in Nanjing, China. The museum features a collection of ancient astronomical instruments.

Purple Mountain or Zijin Mountain (Chinese: 紫金山, Zĭjīn Shān, literally "Purple-Gold Mountain") is also known as Bell Mountain (Chinese: 钟山, Zhõng Shān), is located on the eastern side of Nanjing, and 447m high. Its peaks are often found enveloped in mysterious purple and golden clouds at dawn and dusk, hence its name "Purple Gold Mountain".

Koserow is a small coastal bathing resort on the Island of Usedom.

The Achterwasser (Low German achtern = "rear, behind") is a lagoon forming a bay on the Peenestrom river, which flows into the Baltic Sea. This lagoon extends so far into the island of Usedom, that it is only separated from the Baltic Sea by a narrow barrier spit .

In past centuries the barrier protecting the lagoon was sometimes breached by the Baltic Sea during storm surges that flooded across the island of Usedom, when the narrowest part of the land bridge between Zempin and Koserow at Rieckgraben (near Lüttenort) was flooded. This land bridge between the Achterwasser and the Baltic Sea is only 300 metres wide.

The Achterwasser is rather shallow, a popular surfing and sailing area. Photo taken near the Koserow marina.
