Some buildings on Nanjing East Road:
Left, with the Samsung ad, is the New World Department Store aka New World City (新世界城). Beacuse this building is so prominent, it is
often mistaken as the No. 1 Department Store - even in some city guide books/websites (if you find two or more that wrongly state so, you know they copy from each other...).
The older building with the green writing in the central background is the
actual No. 1 Department Store (第一百货).
Right is Shimao International Plaza (世茂国际广场), a 333m tall (spires height) skyscraper. This is a mixed use building, featuring
a shopping mall, office floors and a hotel (Le Royal Méridien).
