This giant redwood grove is situated more than 1,000 feet above sea level in Redwood National Park. Consistently moist conditions and extra rain brought by the elevation causes the redwoods in this grove to look less red than trees of that sort found elsewhere on the North California Coast. Redwood National and State Parks is home to the tallest and some of the most ancient trees on Earth. I think it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. Photos really cannot do justice to the beauty and vastness of this place. At the time we visited it was incredibly quiet. You could wander the trails for hours in the various parks and not see another person. A wonderful place to be at one with nature.
