Shore Acres State Park, Coos Bay, Oregon.


Cape Arago Light is the the least accessible of the Oregon lighthouses and it's no longer operational. The lighthouse is on private land and may be viewed at a distance from a pullout on Cape Arago road. I was happy to catch the rainbow when I arrived in late afternoon at this location. Lake of the Clouds is located in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Autumn colors were later this year in the Midwest. I was probably a good 10 days to peak fall color at this location. However the color in the sky this morning more than made up for that. This is a taken right before the sun broke the horizon when the clouds were lit up in pinks, oranges and purples... For a moment the whole lake was reflecting pink as you see in the photo. I was fortunate to witness several spectacular sunrises and sunsets on this trip!
