Mill Road, Cambridge. I was beginning to see light differently at night. Look at these shadows. No natural light here. Street lights create another world.

Carlos restaurant, Mill Road, Cambridge. This guy, cleaning up at the end of a late Friday night, cheered me up with his infectious smile as he saw me point the camera at him. I had been feeling down about getting through the midnight to 6.00am period (my normal sleep time). I kept thinking, "What the hell am I doing out here at this crazy time?". Sure, I love making photos, but this 24-hour project seemed over the top. This man, smiling at 1.00am, energised me:-)

Parker's Piece, Cambridge. With Mill Road behind me, and the whole night ahead, I made my way to the city centre. I was coming round to actually enjoying this 24-hour photo experiment. You have to DO things to discover yourself.

Parker's Piece, Cambridge. That's the University Arms hotel being built on the right. When I started on this 24-hour photo walk I thought I might shoot just in black and white as I do enjoy BW street work. However, I changed my mind after taking the picture of the cheerful worker at Carlos in Mill Road.

Regent Street, Cambridge. This was the time of taxis and people going home after a late Friday night (or, Saturday morning). Having started the 24-hour photo walk at midnight meant that I was wasn't going home for a while:-)
