Long exposure shot from the Carmel Mission. People milling about contributed to the ghostly apparitions - I actually quite like them as they give the shot a spooky feel.

A visit to the Carmel Mission proved to be quite a test because of our lousy timing. Saturday noon is not the best time to visit one of the most popular missions in California. A wedding was about to take place which gave me exactly 20 minutes to shoot the cathedral but with people milling about either sight seeing or getting ready for the ceremony, there was little chance of getting any unobstructed view of the place. So, I tried for more serene parts of the mission including this tranquil scene. Father Serra was buried in the Carmel Mission. (Father Junipero Serra was the founder of many of the California missions and, although I'm not at all religious, I have to admire the tenacity of those old monks).
