Chatam Albatross, Chatam Island Albatross, Chatam Mollymawk, Thalassarche eremita, 90 cm / 35 in. RARE. VULNERABLE. Breeds only on The Pyramid, a large rock in the Chatam Islands.

South American Tern, Sterna hirundinacea, 40 - 44 cm / 16 - 17 in. COMMON and widespread. Strictly coastal, rarely far out to sea.

Northern Royal Albatross, Diomedea epopmophora sandfordi, 107 - 122 cm / 42 - 48 in. Wingspan: 305 - 351 cm / 120 - 138 in. ENDANGERED. More common farther north. Closely tied to the continental shelf. A large bird.
