Hackberry Flowers, Netleaf Hackbery, Canyon Hackberry, Celtis reticulata, to 30 ft / 9.14 m. Moist soils along streams, in canyons and on hillsides from upper desert to oak woodland at elevations from 1,500 - 6,000 ft / 457.2 - 1828.8 m. They are so tiny, that I have not noticed them before, happened to be trying for a photograph of a Rufous-backed Robin when these caught my attention.

Greasewood, Creosote Bush, Larrea tridentata, 3.3 - 9.8 ft / 1 - 3 m. COMMON in well drained soils. Has the ability to secure more water by inhibiting the growth of nearby vegetation. Evergreen shrub of southwest North America. Exhibits a characteristic odor of creosote and its smell is associated with the "smell of rain". Forms clonal colonies when the old crown dies and splits into seperate crowns - clones all from one seed.. "King Clone" is around 11,700 years old - one of the oldest living organisms on earth! Seed upper left center.
