Female Grey Headed Lovebird, Agapornis canus ablectaneus, 15 cm. / 5.9 in. COMMON. Favors dry open habitats including spiny desert, forest clearings, sparsely wooded areas and savanna. Gregarious flocks of these lovebirds accompanied us along a trail. Handheld.

Lesser Vasa (Black) Parrot, Mascarinus niger libs, 35 cm. / 13.78 in. COMMON. Inhabits all native forest types, secondary forest and occasionally mangroves. Primitive species, one of the earliest parrots.

Red-crowned Parrot, Amazona viridigenalis, 30.48 cm. / 12 in. Found in river-border woods, forest borders, ranches, second growth. Handheld in the rain and as the sun was setting.
