Immature Male, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Setophaga pensylvanica, 12.7 cm / 5 in. COMMON locally in second growth brush lands with some trees, in orchards and along roadsides. UNCOMMON vagrant in AZ.

Greater Roadrunner, Geococcyx californianus, 23 inches. Relatively UNCOMMON in dry areas where patches of brush and other low vegetation are separated by open ground, often seen along road edges. Photographed in November 2007.

Familiar Blue Damselfly, Enallagma civile, 1.1 / 1.54 in / 28 - 39 mm. COMMON widespread and abdundant. Lakes, ponds, Marshes and slow streams; margins of rivers with emergent vegetation.

Eastern Amberwing Dragonfly, Perithemis tenerea, 0.787 - 0.984 in / 20 - 25 mm. COMMON. Wide variety of ponds, slow-moving streams and lake shores, usually with mud bottoms, open areas, sometimes woodlands. The Familiar Blue photo-bombed and eventually chased the dragonfly off the perch.

Mountain Plover, Charadrius montanus, 22.8 cm / 9 in. UNCOMMON and local on shortgrass prairies in short-cropped grass around prairie-dog colonies, new growth in burned areas. Winter plumage.
