American Kestrel (Northern), Falco sparverius sparverius, 22.86 cm. / 9 in. COMMON in many open habitats from reset grasslands to meadows to brushy fields. Often perched on roadside wires or fenceposts. Nests in tree cavities, birdhouses or crevices of buildings.
